Submission guidelines
Thank you for considering publication with Floris Books. The only submissions we are currently accepting are non-fiction for the Steiner-Waldorf and anthroposophic community and children's books from the Scottish BPOC Writers Network.
Submission Guidelines: Adult Non-Fiction
Thank you for considering publishing with Floris Books.
Floris Books specialises in publishing non-fiction that is explicitly connected to the Steiner-Waldorf or anthroposophical communities.
- If that describes your book, please read on!
- If that doesn't describe your book, we are not the right publisher for it and we wish you luck in publishing your work elsewhere.
To submit your book idea and sample, please fill out our online submissions form and upload your document.
Note, this is the only way to submit a book proposal to Floris. We don't accept email or postal submissions.
This form has three sections:
- SECTION 1: ABOUT YOU. This is where you enter your contact details and tell us briefly about yourself.
- SECTION 2: ABOUT YOUR BOOK. This is where you tell us about the book you are proposing, who it's for and how it compares to existing books.
- SECTION 3: YOUR SAMPLE. This is where you upload your contents page and sample chapters as a Word document or PDF.
The form can be saved halfway through if you aren't able to complete it in one go.
Please email floris@florisbooks.co.uk if you have any questions or accessibility issues.
We look forward to reading your work.
We aim to respond to all submissions within three months.
Submission Guidelines: Children's Books
If you are resident in Scotland and writing or illustrating for children please consider entering our Kelpies Prizes.
Floris books has reluctantly decided to close our general submissions for children's books, which means we are not accepting children's book submissions, unless:
- you are a member of the Scottish BPOC Writers Network
- we have invited you to submit your work
- you are a literary agent
- you are an international publisher
