Scottish Primary School Library Competition
To celebrate the importance of libraries in Scottish schools Floris Books has opened a competition for one lucky primary school library to win £500 worth of Kelpies books!
Why are libraries in Scottish schools important?
At Floris Books, we passionately believe in the importance of Scottish school libraries with dedicated and knowledgeable staff. We also believe in filling them with books that have characters, locations and themes Scottish children can identify with, as well as literature from across the world.
What's the prize?
One Scottish primary school's library will win £500 worth of books from our Kelpies ranges which includes Picture Kelpies (picture books for 3 to 6 year olds), Kelpies (children's novels for 8 to 12 year olds) and KelpiesTeens (young teen novels for 11 to 14 year olds). Books will be chosen by the winning school from available titles.
How to enter
To enter, please send us:
- a photo of your pupils enjoying Kelpies books
- If you are unsure which Kelpies you have in your library check out our Kelpies spotting page featuring covers for many of our best-known book
- a completed entry form describing in no more than 250 words on why it’s important to have Scottish children’s books in your school library.
The answer can be written by librarians, teachers or pupils but must be authorised by a teacher or librarian.
Entries can be either emailed to floris@florisbooks.co.uk or posted to Kelpies School Library Competition, Floris Books, 15 Harrison Gardens, Edinburgh, EH11 1SH. The deadline is Friday 30th January 2015.
The winner
The winning school will be notified by Friday 20th February 2015.
